Billie Eilish released her 6th video for the single
Xanny, part of her album "WHEN WE ALL FALL
ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?".
The video shows a much different Billie from what we
are used to seeing. Far from her dark and goth-ish
looks, here we see a cleaner and more natural
aesthetic.
It seems like the whole video was done in one shot only and even though it is simple and very minimalistic, much like when the party's over we are still entranced by it.
Xanny was written by Billie as a way of expressing her opinion on recreational drug use, this was after seeing her friends abusing certain substances and noticing how much they changed while being under the influence.
Billie has always been very vocal about her disapproval for smoking and drug use when asked about it and stated that she wanted the song to "sound like a recycled poisonous breath".
Xanax is one of the most used drugs in America and the abuse of this substance has become a problem in the last couple of years, it has been referenced by several artists in their songs before as a way of escape.
